✅Provide school 20 hours of continuing education per school year

Responsibilities and duties:

Including, but not limited to, the following: 

• Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development

• Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing)

• Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times

• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service

• Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children

• Train any incoming staff in the classroom and direct them as to what duties need to be carried out throughout the day

• Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children

• Conduct child assessments

• Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends

• Prepare weekly lesson plans according to policy

• Logging daily Brightwheel reports and the daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, diaper changing, and learning objectives

• Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of Lucas Rainbow Bilingual at all times

• Be a supporting and cooperative by implementing all decisions made by management

• Room coverage at lunch and other times when necessary

• Assist other Co-teachers with duties in the classroom

• Keeping the Director and Assistant Director informed concerning staff members, parents and children

• Maintain restroom sanitation

• Maintain cleanliness at Playground area

• Maintain Education and Professional Development

• Room organization/cleanliness

• Attend training provided by the school

  Additional duties as needed:

  (1) Opening the school

  (2) Receiving children by the main door

  (3) Washing lunch and snack dishes

  (4) Restroom attendant if needed

  (5) Changing diapers

  (6) Preparing/ Serving lunch food

  • Build and leverage strong relationships in the service of outcomes for children.

  • Oversee special education eligibility and re-evaluation processes.

  • Manage all implementation and compliance associated with SPED eligibility and evaluation processes.

  • Ensure high-quality service is being provided for all SWDs and ELLs.

  • Ensure that all service providers meet or exceed the needs of our students and are coordinating appropriately with relevant staff members.

Requirement:

✅At least 3 years experience or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or an aligned field of study with appropriate certifications.

✅Experience as a Special Education Teacher in public education.

✅Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

✅Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

✅A desire to work with children through positive interaction is required.

✅Must have prior experience in childcare.

✅Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish).

✅Must have CPR and First Aid certification before the first day of work.

✅Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff - 10-hour course

✅Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff (2024) - 3-hour course

✅Daily Health and Observation Training

✅Child Abuse and Neglect Training

✅TB Test (done within 21 days of employment)

✅Fingerprint Background Verification

Clean police background check required before the first day of work. 

Job Title: Director

Job Duties - Including, but not limited to, the following:

✅ Curriculum: Overseeing curriculum development and ensuring that all courses are approved

✅ Staff: Managing staff, including admission staff, certified agents, and teachers

✅ Students: Ensuring student discipline and providing leadership in student outcomes

✅ Community: Engaging with the community and parents, and promoting student well-being

✅ Budget: Preparing the annual budget and submitting it to the Board of Directors

✅ Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulations and that the school is licensed and registered

✅ Resources: Managing resources and ensuring that they are used effectively

✅ Communication: Acting as a liaison between the Board, staff, students, and parents

✅ Reporting: Preparing written reports for the Board of Directors detailing receipts and expenditures

A school director should have skills in achievement focus, communication, job knowledge, judgment, and leadership.

• Room coverage at lunch and other times when necessary

• Maintain Education and Craft/toy room organized and clean

• Attend training provided by the school

• Coordinating schedules for staff designed to optimize efficiency and workplace satisfaction

• Creating goals and benchmarks for students and teachers alike to track progress

• Developing programs to improve overall student and Teacher performance

• Meeting with the school board to report the status and progress of the school

• Meeting with parents to discuss concerns about students

• Additional duties as needed:

Directors report directly to the Owner with any questions or concerns they have regarding the children or center policy. If these personnel are not available at the time, they can report to the other site Directors.
